Retreat yourself away in this remote rural getaway for two. The main carriage houses the living area, with a traditional log burner keeping you cosy even in the coldest of months. The compact kitchen and dining area are perfect for intimate meals for two and a comfy king size bed with storage underneath allows you to be organised during your stay. In the adjoining second carriage you will find a generous en-suite shower room with a flushing toilet.

A sliding glass door keeps the feel of the railway carriage but allows you to live with the backdrop of the beauty outside, whatever the weather. Sleep with the sounds of Llanthony Valley by night, or slide it back in the morning and invite the sun and the mountain breeze in.
For lovers of stargazing, Brecon Beacons is the place – one of 18 Dark Sky Reserves worldwide. Step outside to your own private garden and deck, where you can enjoy long evenings and al fresco dining on your fire pit barbecue. We sell homemade beef and lamb burgers and sausages and eggs fresh from our farm, so your food miles here can be more like food metres!

Magical hideaway in my favourite place in Wales. It’s the nicest place I’ve stayed in the Ewyas Valley and I can’t wait to come back. The cabin is so cosy and comfortable and well equipped. The views are superb and the location is easy to get to with pubs in walking distance

Immaculately designed and with everything you’ll need. Stunning walks from the door, once you can haul yourself away from sitting in front of that amazing view. And the most lovely hosts. An absolute gem, all round.

Just got back from an amazing stay in the Castaway.
Being off grid for a few days made us felt relaxed and recharged. Cosy nights in by the log burner while listening to the pouring rain is the best.
Now back in the city but still dreaming about this lovely place in the Welsh countryside.
I can’t wait to be back and will definitely book a much longer stay.

Exceeded our expectations completely. This perfect bolthole has everything you need for time away from the norm. We spent a couple of nights here and were transfixed by the beautiful location and serene environment. The carriage is definitely well cared for and maintained to a high standard. We wanted for nothing. Delicious welcome pack (ever so thoughtful) and gorgeous products to use in the shower room.
